Linda Williams, RN, BSN, MPA
Linda is a Senior Risk Manager for GuideOne. She has previously served as a Director of Nursing and as a nurse consultant for several health care facilities.
She has a BSN from The University of Iowa and an MPA from Drake University.
Linda is involved with the development of a wide variety of health care products and services. Her expertise is in assisting health care agencies in the areas of risk management, regulatory compliance, and staff education. Additionally, she has reviewed and consulted in senior living facility litigation claims and has written and presented seminars about the relationship between health care risk management and legal outcomes for various health care facilities and associations throughout the United States.
Marvette Lowrie-Morris, RN, BS, MS, LNHA, CLNC
Marvette is a Clinical Risk Manager for GuideOne. She has over 28 years of healthcare experience in clinical and operational administration of skilled nursing facilities and as an RN in acute care hospitals. She has previously served as a Director of Nursing Services, Administrator and Regional Director of Operations for various health care facilities and is an experienced Legal Nurse Consultant.
Marvette received her Bachelors of Science in Health Care Administration from St. Joseph's College of Maine, a Certification in Long Term Health Care Management from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Business Management from Albertus Magnus College. She is adept at Federal and State regulations and MDS 3.0. Additionally, she has developed and implemented comprehensive strategies for survey readiness and management of the QIS survey process, as well as Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) programs to improve risk management related to policies, procedures, documentation and standards of patient care.
Marvette currently consults with facilities throughout the country to bring about quality improvement and provide staff training as needed.
Karen Merk, RN, BS, CNAC
Karen is a Clinical Risk Manager for GuideOne. She has previously served as a Director of Nursing, a clinical case manager and as a Certified Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator. She was an active participant and regularly attended the CMS Skilled Nursing Facility open door forums in Washington, D.C. and participated in many peer review opportunities for CMS. She was also the co-director of the Iowa Person Directed Care Coalition.
Karen received her bachelor's degree from the University of St. Francis. Her certifications include a Certificate of Completion for the QIS Survey process and the Certification for Nurse Assessment Coordinator.
Karen currently consults with facilities to bring about quality improvement and provide staff training for various health care entities across the country. Additionally, she teaches the Certified Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinators course throughout the United States.
